The Cornwall Solar project is a 10 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted solar energy facility located at 18337 County Road 19 in South Glengarry Township, Ontario. Operational since 2013, the facility uses crystalline photovoltaic (PV) panel technology, with approximately 40,000 solar panels installed across the site. It generates an estimated 14,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of clean electricity annually\u2014enough to power over 1,300 homes\u2014supporting Ontario\u2019s renewable energy targets. As a Class 3 Solar Facility, Cornwall Solar plays a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a more sustainable energy future in the region.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    The sun provides enough energy to the planet in one minute to meet our yearly energy demands. Solar technology allows us the harness this clean, renewable and unlimited supply of energy.<\/p>

    A Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panel converts the suns energy directly into electricity (DC).     Solar Energy has many advantages over traditional forms of energy derived from fossil fuels. These include:<\/p>

    1. Zero Emissions \u2013 A solar farm does not emit any harmful emissions into the environment<\/li>
    2. Unlimited Resource \u2013 A solar panel is made from Silicon, which is the 2nd most abundant element in the earth\u2019s crust<\/li>
    3. Reduces our dependence on fossil fuels \u2013 Solar energy provides an alternative to traditional energy production from fossils fuels such as oil and gas<\/li>
    4. Long Lifecycle \u2013 The useable life of a solar panel can be up to 50 years<\/li>
    5. Recyclable \u2013 A solar panel contains no harmful chemicals and the materials used (glass, silicon, aluminum) in their construction can be recycled at the end of the panels life<\/li>
    6. Efficiency \u2013 Solar farms can be located anywhere in Ontario close to the point of consumption, which improves the efficiency of our electricity grid<\/li>
    7. Grid Stability \u2013 Solar farms production peaks mid-day which corresponds to peak energy usage, therefore reducing the infrastructure required to meet our peak energy usage<\/li>
    8.
